 Lab Testing

Tracey only offers lab tests that she has researched extensively and tried on herself, family and willing friends (she has great family and friends). Lab tests are costly, but are so informative. We learn so much by looking under the surface!

SpectraCell Micronutrient Test

This is a serum assessment of how well the body utilizes 33 vitamins, minerals, amino/fatty acids, antioxidants, and metabolites. This blood test works very well with a Nutrigenomics Evaluation to determine best how to supplement to support SNPs. This test also helps determine nutrient deficiencies that can occur due to poor intake, problems with the gut that lead to poor digestion or from increased needs due to injury, trauma or disease. Tracey recommends most clients have this test done because it reports the level of nutrients inside the cell were we need them to do their work!

Note: some clients are able to use insurance to decrease the out of pocket cost of this test.

Micronutrient test cost: $190-290

The SpectraCell lab offers many affordable add-on tests such as: *Thyroid panel *Advanced Lipoprotein *Particle Profile™ Plus *Metabolic Risk Assessment * OmegaCheck which measures the ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids *Hormone health *Genotyping for MTHFR, APOE and Factor V Leiden and Prothrombin *Add-ons; CBC and Comprehensive Metabolic Panel

Tracey will have this test kit drop-shipped to your home. You will take the test kit to a recommended nearby lab or have a phlebotomist come to your home or work.

You can see a sample of the SpectraCell Micronutrient patient report HERE.

Alcat Food Sensitivity Testing

This is a serum test that looks at hidden inflammatory responses to foods, chemicals, molds, additives, and other antigens.  Tracey will guide you in choosing to test 150-400 items. She may recommend this test for you if you have  chronic inflammation presenting with GI complaints, headaches, fatigue, joint pain, difficulty losing weight, skin issues, just to name a few. Following an ALCAT diet may offer relief to the point of total remission of symptoms.

Alcat test cost: varies depending on how many items are tested. Tracey will guide you in determining the best option for you.

Tracey will have this test kit drop-shipped to your home. You will take the test kit to a recommended nearby lab or have a phlebotomist come to your home or work.

BioHealth Laboratory

Adrenal Stress Profile 201

Description: This profile is used to evaluate the adrenal glands and hormone balance. Tracey can guide you in supporting the adrenals with nutritional protocols and lifestyle modifications based on test results. Using saliva, and four samples collected over a day this test will measure cortisol rhythm and averaged DHEA-S.

Stress profile cost: $225.00

Tracey will have this test kit drop-shipped to your home. In the comfort of your home you will collect four small vials of saliva, freeze them and ship them to the lab company.

You can see a sample of the BioHealth Adrenal Stress Profile – 201 report HERE.

SIBO (Small Intestine Bacteria Overgrowth)

Description: This test kit is delivered to your home. It requires a specialized diet prep period prior to administering the test. Tracey will provide you with this diet prep protocol. The test helps determine if your gastrointestinal symptoms are attributable to an overgrowth of bacteria that normally reside in your colon. Sometimes these bacteria move up into your small intestine where they should not be and cause gastrointestinal problems such as constipation, gas, diarrhea or a mix of all these.  This is a breath test. You will breath into a special breath collection bag with tubes and mail the tubes back to the lab for analysis. Once your results are in Tracey will meet with you to discuss the results and provide with recommendations.

BioHealth SIBO test kit cost: $249.00

You can see a sample of the BioHealth SIBO test report HERE.

NOTE: This test requires that you drink a lactulose solution as part of the test. For people who are lactose intolerant, the lactulose sometimes (but not always) will cause GI discomfort like gas, bloating, etc. I advise against doing the test if you have a true lactose allergy, but if you’re willing to put up with discomfort, it is possible to do the test with lactose intolerance. You might try taking some digestive enzymes with lactase in them after the test is complete if you are sensitive to lactase. Please let Tracey know if you have concerns about the lactulose.

The Great Plains Laboratory

The Great Plains Laboratory, Inc. is a research-based clinical laboratory offering testing for nutritional factors in chronic illnesses such as autism, AD(H)D, fibromyalgia, and gastrointestinal and neuropsychiatric disorders. We provide a variety of metabolic tests including those for immune deficiency, amino acids, essential fatty acids, glutathione levels, inflammation, metal toxicity, toxic chemicals, genetic SNPs, and food allergies.

Tracey has attended the three-day Master Practitioner’s Workshop with The Great Plains Laboratory (GPL). She is skilled at interpreting many of the phenomenal tests offered by this Kansas-based company.

As an example, the Organic Acids Test (OAT) Nutritional & Metabolic Profile is a simple urine test which is collected and sent off for analysis. Tracey has found this test to coordinate well with nutrigenomics assessments and offer great benefit to uncovering the root cause of health problems or optimizing general health.

Link to Organic Acid Test Brochure is HERE.

GPL is the only lab in the U.S. currently offering a urine test to assess your level of glyphosate exposure. Glyphosate is an herbicide and is the primary chemical in Roundup ™.

GPL offers testing for many common toxic chemical exposures thru their GPL-TOX: Toxic Non-Metal Chemical Profile.  GPL-TOX screens for 172 different environmental pollutants using 18 different metabolites, all from a single urine sample.

An exciting new test that will be very beneficial is a comprehensive mycotoxins (mold) test that will be released for use in the Fall of 2017.
